Friday is a big day for Selena and Selena fans. Texas Govenor Greg Abbott will be conducting a ceremony to induct Selena Quintanilla into the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in Denton on October 21st.

The late Tejano superstar will be joining four other inductees including Emma Carter Browning, Susie Hitchcock-Hall, Ginger Kerrick, and Dr. Renu Khator.

The Texas Women's Hall of Fame accepts nominations bi-annually and is open to any one living or deceased who is native from the State of Texas. Texas residents can submit nominations and then a panel of judges make the concideration to select whoever is going to be in the Women's Hall of Fame. The Mayor of Corpus Christi made the nomination for Selena back in April 2016.

Also attending the ceremony of inductions will be Greg Abbott's wife and first Lady Cecilia Abbott.
