La Banda Insider Recap: Middle Rounds Part 2

Aren't La Banda Sundays the best? This time was no exception, the show was INTENSE! As middle rounds continue the boys and girls were put into 6 groups with a whole new song to learn. Only 24 contestants would go on to the next round with 12 sadly going home. Here are the groups in the order they performed:

- Reflection: Megumi, Fabyan, Danelly, Christian, Alondra and Murckpys.
This group lit the stage up with their sassy performance of "Lean On" by Major Lazer. Not only did the group have chemistry but so did Murckpys and Danelly. They'd be very cute together, if you ask me! They sure raised the bar after their awesome presentation but unfortunately, we had to see Murckpys go home. With just a few short months coming from his homeland, Cuba, he has proved that anything is possible! This isn't the end for you, brother: only the beginning.

- D1: Alec, José, Garmandy, Carolina, Elaine, and Veronica.
From voices to dance moves, D1 had some bumpy rehearsals with the song "El Mar De Tus Ojos" by Carlos Vives. However, once they got onstage, the nerves and doubts disappeared and they sure seemed to have loads of fun! I really enjoyed their energetic vibes. From this group Elaine, Jose, and Alec will no longer continue in the competition.

- Lowkey: Taishmara, Wendy, Alondra, Jesús, Jorge, and Edward.
The youngsters in the competition had to show that age is nothing but a number! Singing "Desde Esta Noche" by Maluma ft Thalia, Wendy had some trouble with the lyrics but she went on with the help of her teammates. It's all about team work! Alondra and Wendy had to say goodbye along with Jesús, who was so emotional he brought judge Mario Domm to tears.

- Niveles: Gabriel, Jeidimar, Andrea, Alex, Abril, and Abel.
These guys were voted band of the night by the fans! Perfectly harmonizing "Just Give Me A Reason" by P!nk, this group gave me all types of chills. I'm soooo rooting for them! Since they were saved by the audience, all fo them will happily be in the next round!

- Vintage: Felix, Kevin, Andrés, Yashira, Lianishka, and Zhamira.
Although none of them had heard "Con Todos Menos Conmigo" by 90s band Timbiriche, this group worked together to give their all. They rocked the stage with this oldie but goldie, making the judges fist bump to the beat! Felix, Kevin, and Zhamira will move on to the next round.

- Mesmerismo: Abdiel, Brian, Alex, Aimee, Sofia, and Kimberly. "No Soy Una De Esas" by Jesse y Joy ft Alejandro Sanz was the song assigned to this group. I was very excited since Abdiel is my fave! My excitement quickly disappeared as the song started and the girls forgot the lyrics. They boys jumped in and saved the song! Maybe someone should've spent a little less time on their phone during rehearsals, no? Alex and Kimberly were sent home. To be honest, if it was up to me I would've sent all them home except Abdiel and Brian. But we wish them all the luck!

These are the contestants I would've liked to see stay: Wendy, Jesús, Yashira, and José.

We're at a point in the competition when everything is crucial. The boys and girls have to bring their A-game if they want to prove they're La Banda material! Join us next Sunday October 23 as new groups are formed and music videos are filmed!
